(HealthDay News) -- Allergic skin conditions may include eczema and hives. But how do you know if you have one?

The American Academy of Allergy Asthma & Immunology offers these typical symptoms of a skin allergy:

An unusual rash.
Skin that appears red, scaly or itchy.
Swelling of the eyelids, genitals or mouth.
Skin that appears dry and flaky.
Skin that blisters or looks inflamed.
